I received this from Sandi, who said that I ‘share about faith and life and race and homeschooling always with gentle grace.‘ That’s a humbling statement for me; all I’ve posted is the pondering of my mind and heart, and I don’t always know that I’m successful at articulating it well, so I appreciate her thinking of me. The idea, as I understand it, is to give the award to five bloggers who make you think. It’s not easy to single out five of the many great blogs out there as each one of my friends brings something special to the table. Even though she doesn’t blog much here (I think she keeps two blogs), mckiddies3’s diary of finding love again and planning her wedding takes me back to when my husband and I were in that season of our relationship—such sweet memories, though not as sweet as our current days together. Melissa at TwaddleMeNot has such wisdom about working with preschoolers, and such Biblical truths are revealed in her writing about everyday life with small children. I’d give an award right back to Sandi at Titus2Woman as she blogs about the lighter side of life, something I have trouble pinning as I’m generally the more serious type, but I don’t think that returning an award to the person who gave it to you is in keeping with the idea. So, having said all of that, here is my effort at giving away this award:
Keri Mae at AhappyHome, who is so careful about her words and so thorough in her study, both traits that seem to elude me at times.
Lyria at Schooldaze, who introduced me to blogging, and, along with Keri Mae, helped my blogging take shape, form, and purpose.
Angi at Peakmore Academy, who challenges me to stay true to the Charlotte Mason approach by continuously showing its beauty.
Homebydesign, whose Christ-first commitment challenges my very Martha-like nature.
And, finally, PumpkinsMomma, who writes her heart in a way that simply wrenches mine.
God bless you ladies and all the many other bloggers out there whom I’ve yet to see, but I know are blessing others through the words of their testimonies.
