The Modernized Mom–Revisited

If you read my blog regularly, this might be a repeat for you.    Yet, it is always a timely reminder, whereever we are in our homeschooling journey, of what is needful, and what should be our focus as we plan.    I pray that you gain strength and encouragement today in reading my thoughts on "The Modern Mom," in this week’s Heart of the Matter online, found here

Also, for those of you "master organizers" (or perhaps not such a master), HOTM is hosting a blog carnival on how to organize your homeschool.    Please consider sharing your wisdom with those who are just starting this journey, or looking for 2nd (3rd, 33rd, etc.) chances.   If you’re saying, "I don’t have alot of wisdom," remember that you’re an experienced homeschool parent (even if that experience is only one year old) ministering to a brand new homeschooling parent.   Remember, in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king!

  2. Belinda,
Thanks for the comment on my "joy" article at HOTM…This is my first time visit here and I have to tell you, I've stayed MUCH longer than I intended too…what a wonderful site you have here!!

I had to laugh…I too wish that "that the RELATIONSHIP that I have now had been stressed to me as much as the RULES were when I was little…" Yes…me too! I'm trying to teach my children just the opposite!:) RELATIONSHIP!

    Peace to you!!

  3. Hi Belinda,
It was sweet of you to check on me. Battling the stomach flu here (again). Doesn't give one much good blog fodder! :o)
    Thank you!
    Sally

  4. Hi Belinda!
What an encouraging post! I went over to your post at HOTM and what a blessing. You're right we have to be careful to not buy in to the lie this world tries to sell us…that we're missing out or not living up to our potential. I always come back to…It's not about me. This post also reminded me of the book The Mission of Motherhood (by Sally Clarkson, I think).
Thanks for your kind comments regarding our history fair. We had several children participate that were not in our homeschooling fellowship. I think that was one of the reasons it was such a success…new faces and new friends :-).
Blessings and have a wonderful week!
    Julie

I'd love to hear your two cents!!
